Hello everyone and welcome to Experimental Design!
Experimental Design is an event, which tests a team’s ability to design, conduct, and report the findings of an experiment actually conducted on site. During the course of the training we will be learning about scientists, the scientific method, how to design experiments, form hypotheses, make observations, analyze data, and drawn conclusions. Most of all I hope we will have lots of fun doing science!
In addition to learning about the process, students will design and perform simple experiments each week during class. Students should bring a notebook (any kind is fine) to record their notes and experiments at every meeting as well as a pencil or other writing instrument.
We are also very fortunate to have Catherine Cheng from Del Norte High School as a student coach this year. Catherine has competed in Experimental Design for 3 years, placing 4th at Regionals for Div. B, and 14th for Div. C!
I will post information from each session here on the website. Please let me know if you have any questions.
